2007 GS Navigation - Worth upgrading?
While the Nav of my 2007 GS350 works off of GPS, it doesn't give real-time traffic data. Curious...I know there are two updates to the NAV (until the 2013 model year) that I can upgrade to. Do either of these updates provide real-time traffic data? Or do I just remain using Google Maps off my smart phone?

No. They don't provide real-time traffic. They don't have the hardware to support live data feed. Normally, it's done through the HD radio signal or via internet.

I read good things about the GROM Vline v2. About 600$, which is under 2 Lexus dealer nav upgrades. Full Android on the OEM screen. For my 11 the Tesla unit is over $1000, so that certainly would be an option, and it is very stock. I think it was or derived from a Toyota accessory in some markets.

Hey, my video. lol. It's an acquired taste. If I had the newer 3rd Gen GS, 2007-2011, I would go with the Grom unit over the Tesla style unit. Mainly to retain the factory look and function. The 2005-2006 is the stepchild of the 3rd gen. It was the only year with the Gen 4 unit or is it the Gen3. Vaistech or Grom does not support the older gen system. I didn't have any option but the Tesla style unit...
Now at full price, that is getting into not worth it territory for me, and also it does not keep the car stock.
Plenty of new cars come with 7-8" displays - Ford and Subaru come to mind. The 10-11's have a very high res display too...
