Default Think-design LED turn signal conversion kit

Hello CL,

I ordered the LED turn signal conversion kit from think-design.jp. Here is an example of what it should look like once installed:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OEBs_XlLvZw

The only problem is that the instructions that were provided to me are in Japanese and I don't understand Japanese. I tried Google translate and I think I get the general gist of what needs to be done but some of it is getting lost in translation.

Does anyone understand Japanese and might be able to help me? I am having trouble understanding the steps on pages 4 and 5 specifically. Here is a link to the instructions: link

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I want to make sure I do this installation correctly but can't figure out what to do once I am able to locate the original relay under the dash (I am assuming that it will be under the left-hand side since we are LHD here in North America).

Thanks in advance!

looks to me like they are just showing you were to disconnect the OEM harness and install the PNP adapter. Since its PNP I cant imagine there is anything else you need to do. I would just use the pictures as reference to find were this plug is that you need to use.

That's exactly what I did. I just disconnected the original flasher relay and plugged in the aftermarket one. Good call.

Now to just figure out how to replace the front turn signal bulb (the manual says to contact a dealership )...

Thanks for the input!

I think I have one in the DIY thread. Its pretty easy to access, just take off those lovely black covers. Same process to get to the HID bulbs/.

I took off the circular cover that covers the light area (where the HID and turn signal bulbs are) and I tried to twist the light housing to un-click from the socket but maybe that is not the correct way to do this? Are there tabs that need to be pressed in or something?

it just twists off and pulls out. I found it easier to leave the OEM harness plugged in to twist it and pull it out.

Anyone notice the side mirror close itself when it locks? Wish someone can't figure out how to do that.

I'm a weakling apparently. I got everything installed and up and running. I am a happy camper.

Jskyline, yeah, that would be a pretty cool feature, although I could see it being an issue personally and wouldn't use it myself. e.g. You are parked very closely to another car or obstacle and when you unlock your door, the mirror extends, hitting the other car/obstacle. Kind of defeats the purpose of having folding mirrors.

But it does look pretty neat I must say.

if you're parked that close, wouldn't it be impossible to open the door anyway?
