is that the button in the drop down panel on the left side of the steering wheel?
The traction control button is in the center consol under the slidable arm rest. You press it once for half off and hold the button for 5 seconds to completely turn it off

Hmmm, I'm gonna experiment with this Romini.

MY GS460 shifts automatically on S-Mode too, however it will bounce off the rev limiter if there is wheel spin. I think this was applied to 08+ models, since my friend has full control over his GS430.

Maybe I'm not going full throttle in 1st so that's why it isn't shifting up on its own. When I had a loan IS250 i noticed when I switched to S-mode the numbers changed to whichever gear it was on. I also noticed that it automatically shifted for me at times. I drive a RWD and mine defaults to 4th gear at low speeds and higher speeds. I tested by switching into S-mode at 65mph and at 80mph and both times it changed to 4th.

Mine is exactly the same way. The first time I lost traction and won't shift, I thought something was broken. I brought it in to the dealer, and the mechanic told me it's by design. So, now, when ever this happens, I quickly switch to manual mode, and then back to auto mode, and it resumes normal shifting.

That doesn't make sense! Checkbout my drag video, you will notice my car shift to 2nd gear while doing a burn out!

Sorry Designo, but your car must be the odd ball because mine acts exactly the same way as Rider's.
