^ stick some foam strips between the windshield and the dash if it bothers you that much. other members who are out of warranty have done this and they say it fixes their problems

How is that possible without loosening the dash to make space or prying . Hard to buy that one .

There's other threads around about this one, thanks to those guys. I fixed my dash noise like this.
First I found by pushing the dash hard towards the screen, the noise stopped. So it made sense to try the fix.
I got some A4 (letter) sized black felt sheet from a craft shop. Poked about 1/2 sheet crinkle folded between the screen and the dash carefully using a screwdriver. First time I didn't put enough in, didn't feel the resistance. So redid it having to push hard.

I had the dash out in my GS350 4 times before I finally just gave up. I feel like the car was not that bad, but when you let them start ripping things apart they always create more problems

Here's my story:

Had the GS in 4 times for dash rattles the past 2 years. Every winter, I got the same damn squeak where the windshield meets the dash. I sent an email to the Service Manager stating how unhappy I was that the dash was still squeaking/rattling after 4 different trips. I told him how I'd like them to look at it one more time when I have the valve spring recall done. He called me stating that the GS dash squeaks/rattles are a common problem...they can't guarantee it gets fixed etc.... After a long conversation where I stressed my unhappiness, he said they would try their best. I told him he could keep the car as long as needed....as long as it was fixed.

That was about 1-2 months ago....and I have no dash squeak/rattle right now. The Service Manager said they had to cut the windshield clips that are used in assembly (I thought this was done previously? It's a known issue! You'd think they would have tried this one of the first 4 times.) and they insulated the cowling becaue he said there was a lack of insulation in that area. Whether these fixes will last longer than 1 winter is anyone's guess, but I'm happy right now.

Fold it so it is tough to push in. What you want is constant pressure between the two (windshield and dash).

Note that I also spray 3M Silicone Lubricant deep into the gap in an attempt to lubricate the offending area. Seems to help. Good luck.

i followed what mmade22 did in this link and it really does work! stuffed a buncha felt into the gap using a wire clothes hanger and now the windshield is almost silent. i say "almost" because i do occasionally hear a tiny squeak when i got over small bumps. oddly enough, when i go over a big bump there's no noise. this is an amazing fix for those of us out of warranty or don't want our dash taken apart.

I removed the dash speakers to access the white clips which was causing all the noise. I sprayed some silicone lubricant on the clip and moved it in different directions to lessen the noise from the clip. I also put in fabric right below the far edge of the dash speaker grill just like the link. As added precaution, I placed felt tape to the dash speaker grilles. Now my car is much quieter.

Next step is to remove the radio and center vents and apply more felt tape to hush down the rest of my squeaks.

Had my 2007 GS 350 done by the dealer at 56K. Pulled dash twice clipped an insulated. Good as gold. No more rattles. They can do it, if they want to. They did mine with no charge.

i've had my 07 gone in 3 times for the dash rattles, and each time it came out a little better. it still has a small tick if i go over certain bumps or uneven pavements, but the frequency of occurrence has been much improved. the down side to keep bringing it in is that little things would get scratched up as they remove the dash - the wood on the steering wheel and the scuff plate on the passenger side are both dinked/scratched because of this, but i'm much happier with the results now to this otherwise almost perfect vehicle

I may be wrong, but isn't this covered by a TSB? If so, my understanding is it would be done regardless of whether or not the car was under warranty.
