Default Hello again CL! 1 quick question please

I used to post regularly as an IS350 owner. My question is this, I'm looking at a 2006 GS 430 and I'm curious if mileage is an issue? The 430 I'm considering to purchase has 72,500 miles. Thanks for your responses in advance!!

Please use search, there were several discussions about high miles on gs430. In my opinion, if that car was well maintained it should last easily over 200k. This engine was already well tested on previous gen ls430. Any extended warranty on that car? With this type of mileage, you should expect very attractive price.

personally I would rather a car with lower miles and it all depends on what you want, cause you can get a GS 350 with lower miles and has more HP less torque but who's counting. The GS 430 will without a doubt go for a lot more miles but I don't think that long I would look for lower miles in my opinion.

Thats steep without extended warranty, with gas prices going up v8 prices drop significantly. For 22,000 you can get a nice 2007 gs350 with 50k miles on an auction.

high mileage is not an issue for the GS430 engine. Treat it right and it'll keep on going. Timing belt change is around 90K miles though.

This means the value of this car is collapsing rapidly.

I don't think mileage is that much of a problem, the V8 is very reliable as long as it is well maintained. My FIL still have my 96 SC400 170K and still runs flawlessly.

The V8 gets great economy is smooth as silk and has great power and doesn't have all those pesky problems the V6 does. Call Toby at Lexus of Shreveport and im sure he can hook you up with a great price on EXT Warranty.

Curious as to what problems the 300/350 has that the 430 doesn't ? I know the 430 has a timing belt as opposed to the chain that the 300 has so at 90k that will be a nice expensive service

i can name one recent one right off (Valve Spring Recall) requires some pretty in-depth internal engine work. 430 doesn't need this service. I agree the 430 does have a timing belt but a $450.00 service every 90k is a VERY SMALL price to pay for a proven bullet proof engine.
