Is is possible to turn off the engine and keep your music running until you open the door? I have 2006 GS430. Thanks

Yes and no. On my 07 GS350, I can still listen to music while the engine is off. Simply press the start button once WITHOUT having your foot on the brake pedal. I would suspect your GS430 will be the same. As far as having the radio turn off when the door is open, no, this will not happen. The start button will have to be pushed 2 more times (again keeping foot off the brake pedal) to shut everything off. My Tahoe has this feature - opening the door will shut off the radio when the engine is already turned off.

Before shutting it off, don't put it in Park. Put it in Neutral and then press the start button. This will turn the engine off but leave the radio powered.

Thanks for the advice but what i meant to say is. I'm driving then when I push the start up button to turn off my engine the music stops playing. Is there a way to keep the music playing until I open the doors?

I could be wrong on this (and please correct me if I am) but I thought I had read earlier posts that, at least on the LS, turning the car off before placing it in PARK first may not set the parking brake. If true, you might not want to walk away if you are parked on a slope.

Since I did this, starting the car has been harder than usually. Before I would gently step on the break and push the start button and it would start, but now the break feels mushy like there is no fluid and I have to step on it super hard for it to start also I have to hold the button down longer than normal before it starts. Once the car starts the breaks go back to normal. Has this happened to anyone trying to keep the radio on and the car off? I tried a search up nothing came up.

If you pump the brake pedal when the car is off and not in park, you are compressing the cylinders and there is nothing to release the pressure resulting in the hard pedal.

The answer is to stop pressing on the brakes when the car isn't running in neutral.

Yes, I know if you press on the brake when in neutral and the car is off you can depressurize the line and the pedal will feel hard, but I did not do that. Once I turned off the car in neutral to keep the radio on, I immediately put the car in park. I'm taking it in to see what they say, its still under warranty.
