If it were for the the fact I got the 2008 Lexus GS350 cheap (employee price corporate price), I doubt I would buy it.

With all of the options, the MSRP came out to be 49570.00. That is the same price as the BMW 535i! I would get the BMW instead. But I got it with employee price, used from employee 8 months lease with under 10k miles for $37k (tax and license included).

I like my gs i dont love it so I would have to say no, the dash rattle is really annoying plus the whole center console just looks cheap not the type of center console you would expect in a luxury type car,for instance the center console in an infinity m45 thats a luxurious looking center console

i hate infiniti and annything that has to do with nissan.mo. i bought my car used so i did not pay these crazy prices. i would love to buy another in the future. maybe the 4gs. im sure when they redo it. its going to look a whole lot better inside. my dash does squeek or rattle so i cant complain. the only complain i have is it needs a bigger wheel well. and the ticking engine noise. other than that.nothing! bmw and mercedes were an option and readily available. but i just like the body style of the gs wayyy too much to go with the bmw. besides i like a little originality. everyone has a bmw. at everystop light theres at least one bmw.lol. kinda like the dodge charger too me already. but again thats just mo.

I didn`t purchased my GS.
Would I purchase one right now?
Naaah, don`t think so.
Why?
The new 5 series would be the one I`d buy.
Maybe when the 4G debuts I could change my mind.
Somehow I am not impressed with this car, I expected more, it is like its lacking something, or maybe I had high expectations. Nonetheless I feel it has its own merits, which I appreciate.

For me it all depends on what Lexus will come up with the next generation GS. I will not buy another 3rd GS though simply because I don't buy two same cars.

I would purchase another GS, given the oppertunitiy, i would opt for the 460 as oppose to the 350, (just a mind thing v6 vs v8) and maybe do minor mods to suspension for cornering in hopes not to give up the ride.

Oh yes and i guess i will live with the break noise issues as they arise

i have to agree with a lot of people here if buying another GS i want the top of the line model. While the GS350 is quick, 460/450h is better (my gf has a 450h and the only time its going over 80mph is when im driving it :P )

I have the 08 GS460.

I like it but I don't love it. Because of work related issues, I must drive either a Lexus or Toyota. I went from a C6 Corvette w/ 6 speed to the GS460. I HATE that Lexus refuses to tune the GS460 for as much or more power than the LS460. I HATE that Lexus refuses to offer a performance car with a manual transmission. (My toy is a MkIII Supra Turbo w/ R154.) The GS460 is quiet, decent sound system and rides well, now that I took of the Vossens and put the factory wheels and tires back on. A pretty good highway car which is what I am doing now; 100+/day.

I am thinking about a new car, but would not consider the current GS platform. I would be first in line for a GS460 coupe but waiting for that is like waiting for a manual trans...

I would settle for an IS-F coupe but who knows how long that wait is... A coupe fits me best. In a sedan, the B pillar is on my hip when I have the seat back and I have to climb around it. That doesn't happen in a coupe, plus you generally get more front legroom. Neither Lexus or Toyota are willing to make a car that really turns me on. (Unless Toyota actually produces the FT-86 with a real manual trans instead of teasing) The attitude that we will build what we think the masses want rather than an exciting car, bothers me. BMW AUDI and MB (not to mention Nissan, Infinity and Hundai) all offer performance coupes. I don't understand why Lexus stubbornly refuses. My wish list for my next new Lexus would be:

GS460 coupe
IS-F coupe
IS-F w/ 6 speed manual

I guess I will have to photoshop my dream Lexus cause it won't get built.

Default Comparing Cars

My 06 GS300 is bout to hit 100,000 miles. When I went looking to see what car I would get as a replacement, my criteria is the new car has to have the same options if not more of what is in the GS. I am not willing to settle even for the options I rarely used. My quick search came up empty. No car out there meets the criteria. (AWD, butt coolers, butt warmers, three seat memory....)

I plan on driving this car until the doors fall off, but if the time ever comes, I will probably get another GS.

+1, will consider 4GS (or 5GS depending on how long i keep my GSh). also unlikely to get another 3GS. good possibility i'll upgrade to LS or maybe move over to SC when it's time to get a new car.
