Default iPad mounting ideas in a 3GS?

Ok, so i have an ipad (lets please bypass all the ipad hatred commentaries)...and i want to find a way to mount it in my 3GS. Some may ask WHY?

-larger screen
-googlemaps
-easier to load movies onto an ipad than constantly buy new DVD discs
-great for roadtrips when friends want to watch movies
-i might use this instead of my nano when i get my GROM for ipod integration.

so any ideas?

PS: im avoiding hacking up anything in the interior. no custom fiberglass stuff or anything to tamper with the interior. if you have an idea, a mount would be ideal. i've been lookin around amazon and the only idea i have is a window-suction mount above the original screen but it would block the A/C vents

so you dont want to modify the interior or suction it? theres really no other way short of just laying it on your seat.

Im sure a custom stereo shop can fit it into your glove box but it would be more for the passenger then for the driver. Not really sure where else you can mount it. Nice thing is when you close it up its not visible for theft.

I don't see any other way than doing a custom interior to make room for it.

I came across this iPad install in a RR when I still had mine.

i dont mind suctioning it...what i meant by not hacking up the interior is cutting, drilling, or hacking anything up where if i didnt want the ipad anymore, it would leave a 'scar' in my interior. i also dont want to spend a fortune. the ipad is already $599 as is lol...

anything short of mouting it to a suction cup is going to be custom. if you dont want to drill/cut/hack anything i would just suggest a suction at the bottom of the windshield. even then though it could be a big distaction with such a huge device in your field of vision.

i might consider this.....

a cupholder mount. it would position it at an angle so i can still fully access my dash. i just need to find 1 that will allow me to rotate between landscape and portrait

I have an idea that I will share in a few weeks. I am working on something for my 2GS that you may be able to incorporate. Give me a few weeks to get it in the car and operating properly.

Why not get an iPhone and get Vias SL2VI? It can do everything that you want....on the nav screen itself.

I flip the cupholder lid up and prop it between the cupholder lid and the center stack. It blocks the radio and the temp controls, but when used in the Apple case, works great.

because i dont want to spend another 3-600 on an iphone when i already have a rooted, overclocked, and custom ROM'd, google nexus one (better than iphone :P ) and why spend 3-600 more when i have a $600 ipad with a bigger screeen than an iphone and oem nav screen combined!

you could have a shop or yourself make a custom mount that attachs behind the dash off the center of the dash were it comes up and over the cup holder but a shop will chagre a lot for this you could make it youself not really that hard if you know how to work with some metal and fiberglass and jsut have it wraped in the same material as your interior. I have made one in the past for a EQ.
