Default Plastidip Emblems - Matte Black

I just finished my front emblem tonight and did the rear emblems the other day.

I got this idea from the 2G IS thread below.
https://www.clublexus.com/forums/is-...-required.html

Here are some pics.

Interesting.

I would probably just remove the badges to paint them instead of covering the car. Nice pics, thanks for sharing.

The rear looks very good. I'm not sure how I feel about the front emblem though.

with the plastidip theres no need to. you just spray it on the car and it forms a rubber coating. you can easily peel off whatever gets on the car.

I knew it was a matter of time before it hit here Very well done, I am contemplating this. I have black pearl emblems on the 2GS and I like the fact its not a flat black (though the car is black).

Thanks for taking the time to share.

I noticed that they have it in clear as well. This might be a good application for preventing or at least reducing the severity of rim-rash. Would have to re-apply it after a scrape, but it would be worth it if it helped.

the clear isnt a good as it sounds. it gives whatever is covered, a dull look. they thought about using it as a clear bra but given the pic below, i wouldnt try it.

The rear looks really nice, the front, though.... I'd leave it alone. I wonder how durable the paint is. How long will it take before it stats wearing off and showing chrome underneath.

Its seems BMW/Mini/Audi guys have used this for years with very good results. I was reading about guys painting front grills and they have no chips. Seems since badges are mainly washed it should hold up pretty well unless you wash your car with a brillo pad

^^ from what i gathered in the 2IS forum, this stuff will come off if you go through a car wash.

I was thinking of doing my window trim but then I have to do the headlight trim and around the grill as well. So for now, I'm going to hold off.

It might but I hand wash my car myself and I figure if it does start to peel, it's such an easy mod that I can do it again and better the 2nd time around.
