So I just replaced the starter in my daughter's car and the next day the VSC tax light came on. I retraced everything I did and the ground on starter is solid, the connector is fully plugged in and battery terminals are tight. Any ideas on what could be causing the light to be coming on?

Redouble check your wiring, also maybe while working on the battery you drained the batteries voltage? If that happens VSC gets triggered, then it goes away as you drive the car
