Default BBK users...what do you do about a spare?

I am thinking about getting BBK for my Lexus but worry about not having a spare. Just wondering how people get around this. Tire sealant kits?

mark, the problem with bbk is more about diameter rather than the calipers though, since most 3gs already have bbk (except gs300 of course).

most bbk actually has less of a caliper profile compared to the stock brakes on gs350/430/450h/460, so clearing that is usually not a big problem. but the overall diameter is something else. the stock 18s (can forget about 17s) a lot of times are not "large" enough to clear the calipers from diameter point of view. for example, it doesn't clear the isf brakes.

on my 2gs, i had a infiniti g35 coupe 19" wheel as spare

Since the spare has no "depth" and is narrow, I can fit it over my F-Sport brakes with the spacer.

The last thing you want is to get a front flat and have a flatbed try to drag your car up on a fully flat tire. There goes your $1,000 rim !!!!

On a 500 mile road trip, if you get a flat, while driving late at night, I'd rather be able to control my own destiny with a spare, than depend on AAA.

AND if your car is SLAMMED (and you're not on bags), some AAA contractors WON'T tow even on a Flat Bed !!!!!!

I once broke down halfway between Vegas and LA in and had a AAA flatbed come get me. No fun.

My spare with custom offset to allow clearance of Front & Rear BBK

Thanks ! A rim from a 300zx clears the front, but the rear BBK was the problem. Good excuse to get a nice rim to SHOW OFF.
