Exclamation Back door pull handle won't unlock door

Hi all,

I've done many search and unable to find this answer so my last resort is to start a thread. If it's already discussed please give me the link to the exact thread cause I can't find it. thanks.

Driver door and front passenger door, when the car turn off I can pull the handle and it will unlock automatically and pop the door open to let me out. Easy enough. Today my brother sitting in the back and he did that, it didn't unlock for the back door. Is this normal for backdoor? I did check the child safety thing and it was NOT ON. He had to manually unlock and than pull the level to open the door.

Can this be made like the front door that you just pull on the level to unlock and open the door?

Thanks.

Page 34 of the manual.
1. Turn the engine start stop switch to off
2. Press and hold unlock on the wireless remote and hold lock for 5 sec

The multi-information display shows the modes changing. There are 4 modes that cycle through each time you complete # 2 above. One of the modes unlocks all four doors. i use this setting on mine.

I think what he is trying to say that if the doors are locked and you try to pull the lever in the back to unlock the doors while the doors are in lock position it won't unlock and open the door. The front one's unlock while lever is pulled even is the little *** is on lock mode. I highly doubt it that u can program it, i think its a safety feature they used for children in the back by accidently pulling the lever and falling out of the car. In order to actually to make it work you will need to check how the front door was made to do it and do the same exact thing to the back door. Which actually would require custom modifications.

I think what GS350 said is correct. These automatic unlock stuff is all on page 38 and 39 in my manual. They are related to speed/shift position/ and engine switch. Nothing about the inside handle unlock automatically. O well.

I learned something while looking through there. It said if there is a huge impact like accident, in a few minutes all door will automatically unlock.

the unlock switch works, but it have to be manually turn to unlock.

the front doors, the handle to open the door will do both unlock and open the door in one pull without touching the unlock switch. The unlock switch will get unlock when you pull on that lever. And this is what I wonder if the back door can be set to function the same.

Thanks guys for all your feedback.
