Default Spacer feedback?

I am interested in putting larger hubcentric spacers all the way around on my car i have 5mm H&R all around now with no issues however i have been told that if i go larger no matter what i will be prone to vibration. If anyone can give me any positive or negative feedback i would greatly appreciate it before i pull the trigger and waste my time and money thanks!

i would say prone to vibration, if you do everything right it will be fine. but it's definitely more chances for vibrations. i have spacers on my m3, i have to install the wheels carefully otherwise i can feel slight vibrations

well, every time my car comes back from the dealership, i notice more vibration. then i notice they use air gun to tighten the lugs and that's too tight. i always have to loosen the lugs, and then tighten them to spec again myself in star shape pattern, and the vibration goes away. so it seems to me that with the spacers, how the wheels are mounted on becomes more "sensitive"

haha, well, it's just my findings so i can't guarantee anything. the way i see is is spacers is another "moving part" so if it's not installed well, vibrations might occur. i was pretty puzzled as well, but re-tightening the lugs help, so can't complain

also another trick you can try. if you jack up the car just enough so the wheel can spin. now try to see if you can freely spin the wheels. it happened to my friernd's car before (with supposedly hub centric spacers) that after 1/2 turn, the tire got stuck. so that means the wheel was not entirely centric. so we loosen the lugs and jiggle a bit and tighten again, and after 2-3 tries, we were able to spin the wheel freely. and guess what, his vibration was gone as well

i was talking to a spacer dealer today and he explained to me that factory wheels are more likely to vibrate than and aftermarket wheel

did they explain why? since they all have the same hub size, i can't see the direct reasoning

That quote is conveniently self-serving for this spacer dealer, isn't it?

That's rubbish. The oem wheel also has a smooth surface. If there was a way to make the ride smoother through wheel design, I think a company as obsessed with perfection as Lexus would have done it already. The notion that aftermarket wheel manufacturers know something Lexus doesn't is so non-sensical it is absurd.

Of course if you make a living selling spacers for after-market wheels then it pays to peddle that kind of lie.

i call that complete bs. if that's the case, then there will be vibration with or without spacers
