Default Second Is this a good deal thread!

1)I have a tentative deal with a dealer on a slightly used 2010 GS350 AWD with 11,000 miles. Car is MSRP'd at $54,690 and comes with 18" G-Spider wheels which I can care less. They are willing to sell for $44,000 but I am trying to get that price lowered. Matador Red/Black Interior.

2)They also have a new 2010 GS350 AWD. Starfire/Parchment. MSRP'd at $52,355 and their bottom line selling price is $47,000. Car has 10 miles

The main difference between the two other than miles are the wheels. Both have ML audio.

Which one would you buy?

10 miles or 10k miles? Regardless I'd personally go with the first one and bargain down a bit. Sorry forgot to mention but that's only if the first one is your fav color set, it's near mine which is why i said that.

Yes both have same options. Both have Navigation. The only major difference is that the Matador Red Mica has the 18 inch G-Spider wheels that the Starfire does not have.

Thanks for the replies

This is a no-brainer for me. The white one is brand new for only 3k more and it's a better color, IMO.

If you are going to spend that much, you should ask yourself which color do you prefer. When you owe that much on a loan, a few thou isn't gonna make much difference. Might as well get the color you want...

The 'Starfire' AWD for $47K sounds like a fair price. The red AWD...$2,500 less may be more reasonable. But I'm thinking SoCal and not New England. Both prices might be reasonable for your area.

10k miles = $3k difference? i'd take the new one!

$47k isn't bad at all. If i were considering the 2 choices, my biggest dilemma is the G-Spyder wheels! I love them. So i'd call the dealer and tell them that I like the G-spyder wheels but not the color. Then tell them I found another dealer with the color and wheel combo that I like with the same options as the two they have, for $45k.

LOL! that should bring the price down of the newer gs for ya. of course if they call your bluff and ask which dealer, tell them you can't tell them because the saleperson told you not to tell anyone.

based on price and miles, take the car with 10 miles...

or if color matters more, thake the car with the color you like more or find the exact color combo you want and deal on that.

I have passed on a few good deals because they werent the color I wanted. To me, a good deal isnt a deal unless its exactly what I want.

New all the way. Plus Starfire cars can bring, easily, a grand more than Matador cars at auction when they're 3 years old.

Plus, the trade-in difference between a, say, 35k mile 07 GS and a 46k mile 07 GS is about $1,500... so what are ya really saving?

Try to get the 11000 miles down below $42K then it will sound like a good deal. Lol, my 07 only has 13K miles and it's probably worth 30K~32K?

Otherwise, I'll take the new car.

I'd take the second one on color alone, plus I prefer the light wood interior accents over the dark wood/black ones.
