Default TPMS in asantis

My local wheel guy says that he would prefer to drill an extra hole in my asantis to install the TPMS sensor as opposed to using those adapter. He claims this is the best thing to do although it requires more work. any one have feedback on this? i guess i can't think of any negatives besides it looking bad and resale value

They want to charge 140$ which doesnt seem too bad to take off my stock tires, take off the tires on my asantis. drill new holes in the asantis. put on the sensors. and reinstall all tires.

Can't they just drill out the existing hole to increase it's size?

Still seems kind of expensive, I hope they will rebalance as well for that price.

it's not as much about the size of the hole, but the location and angle. a lot of aftermarket wheels the valve stem hole is at a wrong angle so can't just install the tpms like that

me personally, i prefer drilling another hole at the back of the wheel (if the design allows). i am never a fan of using those adapters. i have heard too many cases of tpms falling off, etc...

is it really receesary to even put the tpms on? it jus sucks when u go back t your stock and have to take them off and on whenever u need to switch to your stocks and back. Unless of course you jus buy an extra set but heard its an arm and a leg to buy?

When it comes to sensors you don't have to it's really a personal choice. However the best option is to have them drilled. You should tell him to cut you a deal though because he should have asked if you wanted the tpms sensors pre-cut because it is standard procedure and Asanti doesn't charge anything for it.

only if you drive 50 miles or more before you shut the car off. i never had a problem with my tpms' when i had wheels. i never switched them over because i never drive the car long distances so the light never comes on.

drill the hole its much better then any other choice you have.. the straps tend to break.

im using these adapters on my asanti's. Had them for 3 years no problems at all except one of my sensors just went bad last week. Have a felling it was the tire shop when I switched to 245/30's on the front, they had trouble putting the tire on past the sensor.
