If you like to see a nice silver metal tube that say's F Sport over the black rubber/plastic tube.

For a intake like that no its not, something like a K&N that doesn't just add a metal pipe and proven to gain performance (which i doubt is true but more throttle response is noticeable) could be worth that.

Drop in filters are the way to go on a Naturally Aspirated car.

Are you saying to just get the air filter and not the filter/intake package?

I've noticed slightly quicker throttle response and more noise from my air filter mods on previous cars. Then again, I also noticed slightly reduced MPG and I check that stuff religiously. It's almost like a game to me. You won't be tearing up any 911 turbos on the road after an intake purchase. It may make you marginally faster. The bigger gains from intake/exhaust are typically seen engines with forced induction.

I think $266 is very reasonable if it is possibly covered by the warrenty if you get the dealer to install it and you get a 3% or so increase in power (possibly). For my 450h that would be around 10hp.

Cheap Injen etc intakes were around $150-$250 or so for the 2GS.

imho, it's mostly about sound and look. i would never ever count on them for power / gas mileage

Agreed 100%

You want performance? Either headers and tune, or go forced induction.

On my Previous N/A IS300, a TOM's drop in filter showed a proven 12rwhp increase. I wasnt a believer until then. Drop in's for me.

And the TOM's was washable and reuseable
