Default HID Ballast sizes....

I just recieved my HID 3000k fog light kit. I believe it is xentec or something like that. (Comes with a 2 year warrenty). The ballast is pretty big, i was wondering should I go with the slim ballast or does it really make a difference ? Has anyone heard of these HID's aswell ? Thanks

Here is the xentec hids for an example:

I think i heard of them, arent they a vendor on CL ? How much did u get them for if u dont mind me asking. I just don't want to have a big bulky ballast when i am installing them. I should have went with the slim ballast.

I got the Xenon Depot Volt Digital kit. Its $95 + $20 shipping = $115. The ballasts are tiny - half the size of an iPhone and so this makes it much easier to mount. I highly recommend them - as you can see from my pics they perform great.

I don't know if you are meeting up with MiamiGS3 to team up on the install, but he has the Volt kit as well.

They usually neglect to mention that with the slim ballasts there is also an ignitor that dangles there, which is otherwise included inside the non-slim ballast. IMO, slim ballast's are not worth it.

I have the slim kit and its about 1/2 the thickness if not less then the normal ones. They are both pretty small in size that you have enough room to place then in a few spots.

I got my kit from HIDextra and they are not as small as an IPhone by any means, but the install was easy and there is tons of room to mount. My kit didn't need a relay setup either which by the sounds of it, is need for the xenondepot ones for some reason.

Thanks for the responses. I guess i will install it and see how it looks. Yeah I sent Miami3GS a message to see if he got them installed already. I will most likely do it on Saturday along with my TV-Navi kit I got from Japan.

The only way to destroy it is to drop it on the floor!

GoodRevs - Please let me know if you have any questions.

It's not so much the size of the ballast that matters, what matters is how it performs (wow... I'm so setting myself right now). Seriously though... Read up on the board about people that installed cheap kits and had issues with radio interference and power steering.
