Default sweet burning smell

After driving for even 5 mins, theres a very sweet distinct burning smell coming from the car. kind of like a baking smell. this smell has me baffled. anyone have any idea of wat could give off a sweet smell? car's out of warranty so dont wanna take it in if it can be diagnosed.

try to smell where it comes from, do you see smoke coming out the rear of the car? even a faint smoke? also check your radiator fluid reservoir

I had a sulfur smell coming from my car last week and called the dealer and they said it was the gas I used. Is this something you noticed after filling up?? how old is your car?? It may be coolant as well. It has kind of a sweet smell

Sweet smell is coolant. I'm guessing it's a loose or broken coolant hose. Problem with so many engine covers on our cars is you can't easily inspect the hoses for bulges or deteriorating hoses. Worst case scenario, your radiator is busted.

Yup, I smell it sometimes. Read up on it in the 2IS section. Forgot what the reason was but it seems to be "normal." Happened twice to me so far and I'm always aware of my gauge cluster so its not overheating. I just wipe it off and move on, it doesn't go below the low lever of the reservoir.
