Coolant smell inside the car??
What's up guys,
I'm down in Florida and the past couple of days it's been raining due to Hurricane Charlie and I've used my A/C quite a bit. Last night I started to notice that whenever the A/C was on and there was a coolant smell. It started out very minor but got strong quickly. Something that I should mention is that after we mounted my intercooler, there was no room for the overflow resouver (sp?) and we just mounted it in the engine bay, next to the battery. I'm thinking maybe it just dumped a little bit out and the smell is getting into the ventilation????
Another thing is that in the morning when I first start the car, since the smell, I have (gasp)....a puff of white smoke. But than nothing for the rest of the day. Not headgasket I hope. Anyways, any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance y'all.

Do you have any leaks? Do you need to keep adding coolant more often than usual? Try turning on the A/C to max and see if the smell goes away. If not, it could be the heater core going bad. If it does, you probably have a coolant leak somewhere.
White smoke coming out of the exhaust that wasnt there before is never a good sign, even more so if your car is turbo. I would test for a HG leak just to be on the safe side. White smoke could come from a bunch of things.... valve stem seals, headgasket, piston rings.. etc.
