Default HELP !!! Tires are Rubbing !!

Just added 20 inch Vossen VVS 086 Wheels and tires 20 x 9 F +38 20 X 10.5 +45 . I also installed the Eibach Pro Kit . I was told the spec tire size is 245/35/20 F & 275/30/20 R but after reading other threads I'm beginning to think that's incorrect ! I dont rub when I turn the wheel all the way but I do rub when I hit a bump in the road. Any suggestions ???

It's correct, but you might have missed that you probably need to roll the front fenders and cut the rears, or roll both front and rear fenders with that setup easily.

You shouldnt rub at all in the front. I never did on springs with a lower offset. The rear is going to be my guess. There are 2 spots that you may be rubbing on large dips or going up an incline. Look for rominl's thread on fender mods and you will see what to look for since there are pics in his thread.

you have over spec tires.. prob rubbing the inner well where fender and front bumper meet. touch it you can feel the bump unlike the rest.. that's where i'm rubbing also since i have over spec tires too (245/35/20 front with 8.5" width).. maybe you can use a heat gun to push that in or roll the fender.. i just waited until all that plastic bump rubs off.. it eventually made a hole, and now it doesn't rub as much as it used to..

The correct spec is 245/30/20 for front and 275/25/20 for rear. If you do not want to change the tires then they are many suggestions on this thread or check rominl's fender mod thread.

Yeah I think I want to stick with the current tire set up. The way the roads are here in Ft Lauderdale ...your asking for a bent rim or flat tire ! I'm also have the family so I don't want to get too crazy !!!! I looked at the threads everyone recommended so I think I will try to remove the plastic pieces on the side fender first.

dont remove the wheel liner itself. you'll have to heat it up and form it so your tire will clear.

not really. it takes time to research and learn about your car before you just dive in. wheels and tires are very quite simple.
