Unhappy GS 300 battery and or electrical problems

I have a 2006 GS 300 AWD with 47,000 miles. I am currently on my fourth battery in 13 months. Between 12/2008 and 12/2009 I have had to have three batteries replaced. The dealer says there is nothing wrong with my car. Is there anything I can do. The last time the battery died on 12/5/2009 the car could not be jump started and had to be towed. The dealer said there was no parasitic electrical short and I have just had three dead batteries in one year. Has anyone else had this problem? I have heard there have been electrical defects in Toyota products and it is not just the gas pedal.

first of all welcome to clublexus. don't just "heard" from people, these days coz' of all the recalls there have been tons of rumors about everything toyota. unless something is confirmed true, i wouldn't just believe them

i haven't heard any thing similar, but it seems like there is a constant drain. if you can't fix anything with dealership so far, have you tried another dealership, or maybe talk to lexus corp and see if they can help?

- My battery almost died once cause somehow the Park light didn't auto turn off. Parked about 9hrs. It crank much longer than normal but finally started.

- Another time I think the car didn't fully turn off. Parked for about 4hrs and the battery was dead. No crank/dim instrument light and that went out too/can't pop the trunk to get my booster pack. LOL I tried the key but that didn't work either, I am not sure if that's due to the dead battery. I had the door open so were able to unlock the back door and use the little trunk opening to push the manual lever to open the trunk from within the trunk.

So, maybe U had similar problem. The car didn't fully turn off.

Don't want to sound condescending, but are you sure it's not user error? I actually once left my car on and running for a few hours in my work parking lot b/c the thing is so quiet. Because of the button system it is easy to leave it in the "on" and not running position by accident. There's also the leaving the lights on which everyone has done before. None of these things happened?

i think you should get the thing that charges your battery taken a look at. i forgot what it was called. maybe your car is not charging your battery properly.

Is it the batteries just dying? If so, does a recharge bring the battery back to life?

3 defective batteries within a year is insane, my 07 has the original battery and per a load test it's as good as new. Maybe the Alternator is weak/bad, at idle you want to see right around 14v measured across the terminals of the battery using a voltmeter.

Default Wierd Electrical Problem

I have an intermittant problem with my 2007 IS250. I live in Arizona and this only seems to be a problem when its really hot out (around 108). When I turn off the car and try to lock the car with the remote it does not lock, no beep. When I open the door to see whats going on, I notice that the Nav screen has come on. If I push the power button twice, it goes from accessory mode to shut off. I can then close the door and lock it with the remote. It has happened about 20 times this summer, I took it to Lexus and the did a complete diagnostic check and could find nothing wrong with the car - of course it did not act up when it was in the shop. I have replaced the battery in the car, and the battery in the remote, buts its happened at least once since then. I have sat in the car when I turned it off and watched the nav screen come back on. Its almost like it thinks a door is still open or something. Its getting cooler now, so I have not seen the problem in several weeks. Has anyone experienced anything like this?

My 2006 Rwd battery was just replaced under warranty (barely) The car would intermittently not start, like push the button and cough ,cough, no start, till the third push. Dealer said original battery had dead cell...
