Default Wheel Upgrade Opinions.

My car atm is plain Stock as seen in the pic below. Ive decided for an upgraded look and wheels is the way to go. Below are the two options I am looking at atm.

OR

What do you guys think?
P.S: For some reason, I love the wheels by FiveAD. I do not know yet which size should I go with, 18 or 19? I do not want loss in performance and ride quality hence the smaller size.. right? Also, if I get 18 I would not need purchase a new set of tires. But is it worth purchasing 18's anyway?

I think 18's would look too small imho, but 19 will be okay. I think the 2nd would look good in 19's with a mild drop..you should go into the photoshop forum and ask them to photoshop you a pic, that was probably the best thing I did before deciding on which set of wheels to buy. Good luck!

i think everything is just about your personal preference, there is no definite answer

if you want just performance, then super light weight one piece staggered 18s will be perfect for you. they can get very light, far lighter than stock wheels, and the staggered setup (wider front and especially rear) will drastically improve the handling and traction of the car

if you want the slightest look, then imho 18s are just small, period. to me if i have to do a car with good compromise between look and performance, i think i will do 19s. light weight one piece 19s can still be pretty light, still considerably lighter than stock wheels for sure. ride quality will likely be compromised a bit, but that's your call

My vote for 2nd in 19", they will look good on GS but not in gold.

Nothing wrong with going 18"s. I like both sets.

Nice designs. But I like the first one in hyper black.

I will pick the black 5-spoke with 19", then 18". I don't think the split-5-spoke fit well with the GS.

stock wheels are cast, they are heavy. i think wheels + tires together is around 52lb. my guess is the wheel itself is probably around 27lb

light weight wheels, quite a few companies have them. if you want light weight, forged is usually a good option. rays te37 is a common choice. yoko advan is one of the few cast wheels that are very light. ssr also have some light weight wheels. bbs is another good company for light weight

on the m3 board, a lot of people look at the te37 and the advan, they are both great very light weight 19s. i think for the advan, a 19" is like 19lb or so

My first choice would be the first wheel you showed but since your car is white, you should get that wheel in white rather than black. White wheels on a white car look awesome - this is a look that has been popularized by Lamborghini recently.

The second choice would be the gold wheel you showed.

I don't like black wheels on a white car.

speaking of TE37, they are on sale on tirerack (19x8.5 +43mm) for $619 each. Gunmetal.
