Hi Guys, I have a question/dilemma, I looking to purchase a GS...I went to go look at a GS today and everything about the car was good EXCEPT there was a scratch on the screen...this is the only issue that bugged me because I will be looking at this thing all the time...I know I may sound ****, but one of my main areas in looking for a new used car was to have navigation...anyways, this car would be PERFECT if there was a way I could fix or do something about the screen...does anyone have any suggestions/solutions other than keep looking for another car? Anyone have experience fixing, hiding really well these types of scratches? ANY help would be GREATLY appreciated!
Here are a few pictures of the screen...you can feel a depression on the screen when you put/slide your finger over it, so it definitely more than a "scuff" mark that would "buff" out...its like the first thin layer is cut.
Also...would anyone know if I bought another Lexus Navigation Unit from Ebay if that would work? plug and play? or would it have to be an 2006 Nav Unit to even maybe potentially work? lol
That would bug the crap out of me too. If you were to get a replacement, all 06's should be plug and play with other 06's but 07+ MY have completely different plugs. Gen4 vs Gen5.
I'm glad I'm not the only one that would be extremely bothered by it lol...I spent a good hour thinking if I should buy the car or not, frantically calling people to see if anyone knew if it could be fixed...I ended up leaving a refundable deposit so I can come home and research and think about it. Its a Lexus CPO too!

Another vote for "it would bother me too." You could always as the dealer to swap it out with another one, perhaps from another car on their lot. Might be a good question to ask framed around requesting your deposit back. Good luck!
Since it's a soft screen, I'm not sure if there is any product that wouldn't make the scratch worse. Honestly it's not that bad, especially when the screen is on.
I think if you were to put a screen protector on it (they are on ebay, as well as screen protector sites etc. it would go far to mask the scratch since it would put a layer on top of it that would reflect evenly.
I hardly think that this is a good reason to pass on an otherwise good car. All used cars will have SOMETHING cosmetic about them that you don't like whether it's a bit more wear in the seating, stone chips, scuffing on a piece of interior plastic...
That being said if this would bother the hell out of you (I admit it would bother me, but so does anything else) then you can pay more for another one without the problem or wait it out until you find something equivalent with a flawless screen.

Hey Kev it is me lol...I never knew that was you...I've seen your sig many times!
Thanks everyone for the comments...the dealer wouldnt fix it or change it out or anything because they say its "normal wear and tear" so I guess back to the drawing board.
I think the sales people started to think something was wrong with me...I literally was standing around emailing, calling, texting people to see if there was anything that could be done for about an hour
