Default windshield wiper fix

Hi,

the windshield wipers on my car are not even. i guess it was because the cold? they will not go down all the way and will stay up 2-3 inches from where it is supposed to be at when not in operation. how can i fix this? is there a DIY fix to this? or do I have to take it to a dealer? any help is greatly appreciated.

thanks in advance.

just push them down. I do it from the passenger side. They are in the rest position - you use this to lift them up for replacement, inspection or if snow is blocking the lower part. The retracted position is fully lowered. It's described in the manual on p 53 in mine.

I tried that, but both arms move. the driver side is fine, but the passenger side is the one that rises. its just really annoying to look at.

It takes a pretty good push/shove to move them between the positions.

I think both arms are always move but if the driver side is in position than it shouldn't be able to move anymore. But it's your decision, take the risk or take it to dealer and pay for it.

Take the nut off the passenger side's wiper arm, move it down one notch and tighten the nut back.
