Question about iPod interface
I just got a used 2007 GS, and discovered that it had iPod interface -- there's an iPod cable inside the middle console.
What I've figured out so far is that by switching to the Disc mode on the car's stereo I can listen to my iPod (I have a Nano, if that matters). However, I can't seem to control anything through the car's controls other than stereo volume. The audio screen says "iPod Interface" and "Simple Mode". There are some buttons for File / Folder, Scan, Repeat and a couple others. But they don't seem to do anything useful. For example the Up/down buttons on the wheel don't change to a different song.
Can somebody, please help me figure out how to use the interface?
Thank you.

"Simple Mode" usually denotes that it is in the mode that works more like an aux input where you control everything from the ipod. You need to put it in the other mode to control with the car stereo (and disable the ipod controls).
Sounds like it's the vais unit, best bet is to RTFM.

Found the manual for the VAIS unit online. Tried a couple of things, and they worked! Not only do I have control of the iPod, the unit also disables the stupid Agree screen!
Thank you for your help.

I forgot to mention the iPod interface in my last post.
