Default Larger Trunk ???

I have an 08 GS350 which has a 12.7 cubic foot trunk.
I was looking at the Lexus web site for the 2010 and it says the trunk is now 15.2 cubic feet for GS350 & GS460 (10.3 on GS450H hybrid due to battery).
A 2.5 cubic foot increase is a SIGNIFICANT change !!!
Does anyone know if this is for real and how it was achieved?
Don't think I would trade my 1.5 year old car with under 15K miles, but the small trunk is my only complaint with the car !!!

Thanks.

wow really? if so i definitely need to check out the 2010 and see why it has the "gained" space considering that the car is still the same. i have always said that the 3gs has a relatively silly trunk

Maybe they just moved the Sat Radio tuner and other audio components to the front? I would imagine a bunch of things that line the trunk could be moved or made smaller.

the tuner is very small, it shouldn't gain you much space (if they do indeed relocate the tuner). 2 cub ft is quite a bit of space, i wonder

most likely Lexus had made some adjustments to the shape and size of the panels in the trunk to allow for a bit more room. The GS has a tiny trunk. It needs all of the help it can get

I was aware the GSh trunk grew but not the other models. That is fantastic news.

i wonder if they just tweaked the inner trunk lining to make it bigger.. i know there is a bunch of room behind the lining especially near the strut areas and the upper lining could be a lot more flush with the deck..

the GS now has more trunk space than the ES. haha

i wonder if this is a print error.

if anyone here is going in for service, please take a picture of the trunk.

for 09, the 450h trunk space increased. other 3gs stayed the same

if they did add/find volume in the trunk, I'd have preferred to see a larger fuel tank over more cubic feet in the trunk.

19 gallons and over 400 miles a tank is still not enough?
