Default Don't Break Your Rear Sunshade!

Well... Mine got stuck for some reason a couple of months ago and only one side would come up. After I got it unstuck, the screen is now a little loose and not taut. I mentioned that to my service manager last week when I took it in for service and they replaced it under warranty. Final bill on them?

$1500!!!

Sure am glad I didn't have to pay for that!

Mine's up all the time although I don't really "use" it because I am the only person most of the time in the car anyway.

Yeah I am surprised by some of the cost too. My 1RX didn't cost as much to maintain as the 3GS for sure...

it is a bummer, many of us are already out of b2b warranty period. I no longer use the sunshade, nor the tilt feature on the sideview mirrors.

Yeah I stopped doing that.

It doesn't do anything for me anyway.

I use it all of the time when I have some clown in an SUV behind me in traffic to provide more privacy, headlight dimming, and to lower the cabin temps when parked in the hot AZ sun. I like to drive with the windows down so I have to put it up and down all of the time

all of this makes me think prices are artificially inflated.

if they don't jack prices so high, they can't call it luxury or something....

the sunshade costs $1100

i don't remember this option costing that much on the sticker.

Off the subject a little.

If you all think that's ridiculous, check this.
Last week I'm at the dealer killing time.
Looking arounf the showroom, i see an IS250 for 43K. I'm shocked! So I look at the options and the car has optional custom wheels for something like 4K. There is also a price for the special alloy wheels that ARE NO LONGER ON THE CAR!
I ask a salesman and he agreed with me the price for the wheels taken off the car is still included. Bottom line, if the buyer is too stupid to look at the sticker, they will take his/her money.
Dealers stink.

No kidding.

That and if they don't jack up the prices for other items, they can't charge $120 an oil change right? Lol...

Okay those dealer installed wheels are most of the time, FUGLY...

And that's just plain retarded if they still charge for the wheels that are no longer on the vehicle. If they were to be included with the car then sure I can understand that. Still over priced though.

hah! kind of ruins the point of getting a luxury car if you can't use it after 50000 miles for fear of exorbitant repair costs.

side mirror $1000
headlight $1000
sunshade $1500

every time you get hit with a whopper.

pay to play....

for comparison, the toyota avalon rear sunshade only costs $770, and it's made of the same crap

Well I don't think I'm fixing those if they break after warranty expires.
