My rear screen also came up on one side only. I took it to the dealer and they said 1300 to fix it. I told them my family has been with lexus since the first lexus came out and they said sorry no can do. I was pissed and just fixed it myself and told them to screw themselves

 

Was your car out of warranty???

They should have fixed it if it were.

And you know what I hate? When they say it's a "courtesy" when it is covered by warranty.

When they first told me that they will replace it as a courtesy, I asked him if it would be covered by bumper to bumper warranty and he said yes. Then I said it in a nice way that it wouldn't really be a "courtesy" then and he understood me.

It's like a firefighter putting out a fire for courtesy if you know what I mean.

good to know our sunshades are worth $1500, i was getting ready to modify the rear sunshade with a much thicker material.... looks like i ain't ****in with it at all now haha

 

well my car is out of warranty but you would expect them to atleast fix it for free on top of the fact that i was out of warranty for only 2 weeks. *******s.


the fix.. when you put your screen up and it goes up only by one side take a look. there should be a silver or white bar coming out of one end of the sunshade...

put your screen down and take a look at that same sinde. you should be able to stick your fingers through there and push watever came out back in.. that was the problem with mine... now it works perfectly

Wow only two weeks?! That is kind of... Not so good.

Is that white thin small and flimsy? Mine had that sticking out one side.

 

invest in some tints, >$100 and it save you the hassle. you wont even need to use the shade.

 

in cali, it still gets hot even with tint. the shade blocks out just that much more.

 

The fact that the 06 I'm taking delivery of had an acknowledged problem with the sun shade (that they are supposed to fix before I pick it up tomorrow), and then reading this thread, has me thinking that I'm not going to use the thing just about ever and leave well enough alone.

 

i never use mine. i think i had it up twice. my windows are tinted so i have no need for that thing.

I wonder what that thing does anyway? Maybe it's a secret mechanism to make the sunshade stuck! How evil?!
