Programming TPMS @ Toyota ?
Have a question....I need to program my 2nd set. I figured since, Lexus and Toyota are so close, do you think I can just go to Toyota to get my sensors programmed? or will they send me to Lexus? If anyone done this, how much was it ?
Yes you can, providing that the Toyota dealership is willing to do it. Not all will work on Lexus' but some will, especially in this economy. I'd estimate that you'd be charged anywhere from .5 to 1 hour of labor.

Just make sure to take your own sensors with you vs buying them at the Toyota parts counter. The Lexus TPMS units have one less digit than on Toyota sensors.
I learned this the hard way (in reverse) by putting Lexus GX sensors on my Tundra... even though the Lexus parts are branded Toyota, they aren't the same.

So, Toyota charged me $200 for this job.
And at the end the tech told me, that I will have a tire pressure indicator on my dash. But its ok he said, when I install the sensors and fill the tires with air the lights will go away? WTF?
I have my TPMS switch still on Main, so it should still detect my current TPMS that are on my car right now, not the 2nd set that he programmed ? He gave me some print outs, and I can see that the sensors I bought are registered as 2nd.
I was too tired to argue.... But I think I will have to drive there again.

your tpms were already installed on your wheels before programming?
did you have to give the serial numbers on all 4 sensors?
so you still have the warning light after you registered 2nd now?
have you tried changing the tpms switch?
These are great tires
Nope, they were not installed. I just gave them the sensors and told them to program them as a 2nd set. My main TPMS set is on my summer tires that I have on right now. Toyota tech did just that, programmed the 2nd set and gave me the print outs. From the print outs I can see that I have these TPMS registered as a 2nd set. However, on the dash I have the tire pressure light and a "System Check" error. I have tried switching between 2nd and Main using the switch, that did not work. The reset button does not respond (re-initialization of TPMS)
