Default XM Radio Install Question

I am having my dealer install factory integrated XM this week. They want to put the antena on the rear trunk. I am thinking I would prefer inside on the back shelf. I have read a few posts saying back shelf has reception issues. Can i get some feedback from members that have done either the back shelf or rear trunk. Pros/Cons....

Thanks!

i suppose you don't have the shark fin?

but yeah, putting it on the rear deck can have reception issue. not a must, but not something i want to risk. of course i can understand it doesn't look as appealing with the antenna on the trunk lid

moreover, especially if you have metallic tint, putting antenna on rear deck is a huge nono

I have my ant on the rear shelf and it only cuts out in a couple of spots in my neighborhood (hilly nad heavily wooded). No issues with reception otherwise. I'm using the VAIS unit with the mini tuner.

Had mine mounted at the bottom of the rear window, below the 3rd brake light. mine was a Sirius antenna. Had the one on my rear deck and when it got washed, it moved sometimes and left some scratches.
