Default New tire sizes

Right now I am running 245/30/20 and 285/25/20 (20x8.5 20x10) on my gs300. I would like to get a thicker tire. I'm dropped on tanabe nf and Im currently not rubbing. If I go up to 245/35 and 285/30, should I expect any rubbing? Btw my offsets are 38f and 42r and I'm planning on still using falken 452.

the tire sizes you are running are in spec. by going thicker tires, you will be out of spec (your odo will be off). i think you should be ok with the new tire size, but i'll let the tire experts chime in to advise you.

yes you will rub. The 245/35 and 285/3o are way out of spec. Try the 245/30 or 255/30 with a 275/30 and it will look better and probably will not rub.

are you actually trying to say that your 275/30 (overall diameter 26.50") is ok but 285/30 (overall diameter 26.73") is "way out of spec", at 0.23" difference? you gotta be kidding me

bottom line, using 30/25 profile is spec. using 35/30 is out of spec and while it depends on widths and offsets, out of spec tires tend to rub more easily. 8.5+38 and 10+42, i think front is pretty ok (unless you hit dips, coz' of overspec tires) and rear, i say it's pretty marginal
