i started to notice a noise from my front right door speaker and thought that it was something moving that was making that sounds until i put my ear close to the door speaker on loud music and realized the speaker is blown, the dealership should change that under warranty correct ??
i just noticed today that i blew out the 2nd jl 13w7 jeezz...

yeah i have the marc levinsons. i took it to the dealership and somehow every time i come to the dealership with a problem and try to show it to them it doesn't come out. when i was driving yesterday it sounded like something was in my door moving around, when i took it to the dealer it wasn't making the noise lol
today i blew out the 2nd jl 13w7 sub, i dunno what the hell is going on but i barley use it and when i use it i listen to it no more than maybe 40 min and cut the switch off. can someone explain to me how the hell i went thru two 13w7s
Maybe u or whoever wired the sub incorrectly? I remember when I had kicker L7s, if you didn't wire the correctly they would seize up. LOL, funny thing is in the manual it shows you how to do it.
And yes, dealership will replace it. If they don't hear it... TURN IT UP ALL THE WAY so it makes the raspy sound or whatever.
my guy who wired the sub does this for 15years so i doubt its the wiring, maybe i am listening to it to hard, but that's what this sub is suppose to perform.
If the speaker sounds blown on particular tracks more than others, it is more likely a rattle in the door, where the wood trim and the body of the door meet
check your voltage... i blew a 12w7 running a 1000/1 with close to NO dimming lights, i didn't pay attention to the voltage light because the system was hidden in the trunk, later on i found out i blew the 12w7, life was never the same again (till i got 2 12w6s hahaha)
lets see how it goes with trying to get a 3rd sub. i doubt jl is gonna give me another sub, ill try giving them the serial and play stupid see what they say. this time i am keeping the ***** on the amp on loww.. i guess it was up to much for the sub.
i was reading the about the jl 13w7 and it shows a grid of colors of whats safe for your sub to be played at, yellow red black warranty voided. how do you know what your sub is giving out.
you don't... you have to have a wattage tester hooked on to your amplifier... trust me, a 13w7 can handle the 1000/1 AND much more even IF it says otherwise... my 1000/1 blew my 12w7 because i was retarded and didn't check my capacitor and it blew the capacitor and melted terminals and blew other stuff in conjunction, now the amps sitting at my dad's shop waiting upon repair... and i'm considering downgrading to a 500/1
