Default GS460 Fuel Consumption.

I have almost 500km on my new car and was wondering what are the mileage numbers others get. From the display under the gauges; 13L/100km is what I get and varies throughout driving. Is this in the normal range or above/under normal.

P.S: 10 liters of petrol where I love almost cost $2.5

Depends on your driving style and environment. On a recent 4000 mile trip, my highest tank average was 32.5 MPG on cruise control at 75 MPH. Total trip average was around 31 MPG.

To achieve this, stay away from gas with ethanol, use cruise control, and try both premium and mid grade gas. I actually found I got the highest MPG with midgrade gas.

2008 GS460 on Dunlop runflats.

I get around 16 on average. Lowest i got on a tank was 12 (all city and very aggressive driving), highest was 22 (some highway mixed in). However I would say I am an aggressive driver, ECT in sport, and a lot of city driving so lot of acceleration and braking.

If all highway I would expect to get 25-26 on average.

I believe gasoline in Germany has a mix of ethanol in it, I think 5%. The plans to increase this to 10% were scrapped to my knowledge. Ethanol has some negative impact on fuel economy. Moreover, fuel economy will improve slightly little by little in the first 20-30 000 miles. Still, the above two factors together only explain maybe 1 l/100 km at max.

How about the Octane you use? 95E? Is this comparable to the Octane level in the US (the method of calculating is not the same, so 95 in Europe does not equal 95 in the US)?

Are you driving large part in cities and in traffic jams? This will shoot the consumption up quickly? Also, accelerating too slowly actually consumes more gasoline than a rather good acceleration (using more than 50% of the max revs). Finally, do you let the engine break and anticipate traffic lights and slower traffic?

...just some guesses.

...one more. Is the tire pressure at recommended level or higher? Too low tire pressure also increases fuel consumption.

I misinterpreted the location as Saar, Germany ... sorry, don't know the fuel sold in Saar, the Gulf.

You seriously don't know how to use a tire gauge? The recommended tire pressure is printed on the wall of the tire as well.

One should NOT go by what's on the tire, but should go by what recommended for YOUR vehicle. This should be on the sticker that is on the B piller of your driver door.
