GS trunk strut interest

Hey guys...
Speaking of the trunk ...I have an 2007 gs ...the trunk release crapped out on me...changes the remote batery and nothing...the remote works..but the trunk release it self doesn't do the POP anymore..stuck to using the valet key.
Anyone had this problem ? If so what did you do to fix it? Instead of the dealer 😳😳
