Default Hello all, please help buying a gs300

Hi gang, I've owned couple lexus before and currently in the market for a gs300. I was quoted by a local Toyota a black/grey 2006, 40K mile, w/Nav for $25M. This is in Mass area. Any suggestion? Thanks

suggestions on what? i think for the price you can find the same deal but for an 07 350 which imo i would take over the 300. for one it has the bigger motor, brakes and better navi system.

I can't seem to find anything lower than $28K range asking price for 2006 gs300. For 2007 gs350, all asking prices are in $30K+. Most of the dealers claim this car has been selling like hot cake and would haggle too much on price. I thought buying a used car would be easy nowaday due to economic condition, but wow I am wrong so far.

you can find an 07 350 for cheaper than 30K. if the power, brakes and navi arent really all that important to you than a 300 is fine. I only wish i bought the 350 for the navi.

just keep in mind, these cars are notorious for dash rattles and brake noise

I scoured for over 2 months..here in LA. The delta between a 300 and 350 is closer to 10k for a fully loaded one CPO. I find the 300 just fine for my needs, Ill pocket the difference and put it towards a new GS-F when they come out.

Also its probably location specific, but here in LA, used 07 350s were no where near as abundant as 300's. I am guessing that drives the price apart to what I was finding on autotrader.com and the other sites. Private party you can get a 350 for under 30k, but I always seemed to find "salvage" somewhere in the discription... which is why I only stuck to CPOs that were backed by Lexus.

Yeah there are absolutely no 350 model available in Boston for less than $30K. The 06 gs300 I tested drive yesterday has a weird engine noise and they have to bring it to Lexus for service first. I would love to own the 350 model, but can't wait for another year since I'm carless at the moment.

You have to remember that the economy has forced many consumers to buy used vs buying new, which has caused used car prices to increase. Dealers are having to pay more for off lease cars at the auctions. If paying $28K make sure you get a CPO. $28k is too much if the car is not a CPO.

25k seems like a great deal. i paid a little more that for a 2006 300 awd with nav and ML. 36k miles. of course you could offer a thousand or two less and see if they bite.

so far i've had the dash indicator light up twice - once for bad seal on gas cap - they replaced for free and gave me loaner. and once for low tire pressure. i was getting out of the way of a fire engine and hit the curb with my right rear tire i think.

It's kind of hard to find a decent 07 350 in ny/ct for $30k, but there are lots of 06 300 for $30k.

Go for a 350 or 430. You noticed the hp power difference. For the gs430, sport suspension is great for fast driving. My sis got the 06 gs300, it's ok. It's kinda soft when you drive. Steering is not great.
