Default Passenger Window Opening/Closing Issues?

Hi guys I got the windows tinted on my 09 GS 350 a couple of weeks ago and after a few days I started putting the windows up and down again I noticed that my passenger window is playing some tricks on me, e.g. when it is partly down I'll hit the switch to close it and it goes up a little bit but then automatically starts to come down all on it's own. I does this quite often now as I've been playing with the window switch and I still notice the window coming down when it should be going up.

Should I take it to the dealer since the car is still under warantee, or should I take it back to the place that tinted the windows as I didn't notice this problem until the windows were tinted.

Why don't you try re-setting the windows, if it doesn't help, I would go to a dealer. The tinting place probably has nothing to do with it. They don't take anything apart when they tint the windows.

Thanks. How do you go about re-setting the windows as I didn't think you could? Right now they are all on automatic as if you hold the switch for a second they go up or down automatically.

The procedure is described in the manual, and also on this forum. You have to re-set them every time you disconnect the battery.

Here it is: All you need to do is reinitialize each window (using the switch on each door itself in this order: driver's door, passenger front, passenger rear, driver rear, moonroof). I think you need to lower it half way then re-raise and hold switch up for a few seconds longer. The will blink in sequence as you need to do them once you start w/ driver's door.

Leonard, sounds like your window's pinch protection is kicking in. Its sensing resistance when you try to roll it up. Take it back to the tint place and have them fix it.
