The 2010 RX and HS vehicles have the next gen electronics package in them that has stereo bluetooth, head up display, enform platform and (unfortunately) the mouse based NAV system.

Is the GS getting this for 2010 as well, or do we still get a system that would be considered advanced 10 years ago?

Seriously, the current package is very dated and not appropriate for the lexus brand. My friend's Ford SYNC (is his Focus!) is tons more advanced than what we get in the GS today.

personally i don't think they will go through all the trouble to put the new system in this current gs body

 

they'd have to overhaul the LS ES and GS.

they're not gonna dump that kind of money.

Funny I read an article recently where Lexus ADMITTED they still believe touch screen is the best way to go but they are designing bigger, higher screens so we get remote touch, which has gotten reviews it is the best control system bar none.

 

i wish the touch screen were more sensitive, like the ones at the ATM or supermarket self-checkout.
you only have to touch it lightly as a feather.

 

interesting...so why did lexus go with the new mouse interface for the RX? i tested the RX mouse, it's alright. my only concern is that it would take too much of your attention away while driving, which may lead to higher incidence of accident. but that's probably a familiarity thing, and should become second nature when you're used to it...

 

I needed a loaner and asked the service person for a vehicle I could play ipod in. I currently use the cassette player, so naturally I asked for a vehicle with a cassette player in it. Which the response is, they had no vehicles with cassettes in it. I was given a 2010 RX with usb connection.

The ability to navigate you ipod through the touch screen was excellent. Why is the GS the only car with the cassette player?

 

Yeah I wondered why we are one of the only cars besides the lx I think with cassette. What do they think? Lx and gs owners are old and outdated?

It's downright embarrassing that the ford focus outclasses the gs in electronics... Maybe I'm the only one who won't buy a gs because of this.

 

Correct me if I am wrong, but in Japan GS does not come with a cassette player.

 

i believe it's the MD player

 

almost just as bad as the cassette player! but i must confess, i've used the cassette player a few times, got some old tunes on tapes still.
