2. In either case, does having a ML vs. "premium" system make a difference?

Thanks!
My answer is A

MrMark i love that system u got going on. did u get rid of ur spare tire?

I got a question thats been bugging me. When u have ur aftermarket Amp and sub and whatknot. Is it still controlled thur your nav screen and oem headunit? cause i saw on Lextronics thread he had a second headunit and if u look at the picture. the name screen is now useless (from what i can tell) hope some1 post it up so every1 can see.

Thanks....the spare is under the amp platform. There are 2 plexi levels that come out and then the amp platform is hinged so you can get to the spare.

I also have a cover the goes over the plexi so the trunk is still functional.

Stock headunit is still operational and controls everything. We tied it all into the factory audio so nav, audio, AC, etc are still functional.

Mr. Mark,

How about the input to you sub amp: line level converter from the old sub speaker wires?

Did you add a separate "bass volume" control **** anywhere up front?

Thanx!

Did it here at ClearStar in NJ.

Not sure about the size of the trunk....never really use my car for daily use so nothing really goes into the trunk anyway.

I would like to see what people have done to add woofers in there trunk or extra speakers in the doors....im getting tired of the stock system and am thinking about build cystom pods for 2 speakers in each doors and 2 tens on either side of my trunk.
If you're looking for sound for inside your ride, you can integrate an aftermarket woofer very easily. My Brother and I both have Lexuses; the only difference is that my factory system is the ML premium package, his is not. We both ended up getting JL 12w3's with TMA 500 amps (probably overkill, but JL is having a South Florida fire sale right now) with remote controls. At any rate, in my opinion, the ML package sounds much cleaner than the non-ML system, but I only really noticed after having the 12 installed in the trunk, right below the factory 10. The ML system really pushes hard, and I only notice very little rattle when I get past 50 on the volume level. And now I don't even notice the road noise that Lexus keeps telling us that they wanted us to experience.

Now if you're trying to have a concert for the people outside of the car, then that's another story; you will probably want to gut your system and start from scratch.

I have for the headunit interface, the Rockford Fosgate 360.2.

I have two Alpine V12 amplifiers, one 400 watts, the other 560 watts.

The interior speakers are Rockford Fosgate power series components front / rear.

The subwoofers are JL Audio 10W1's,...in a custom enclosure, complete vinyled trunk, led lighting ( lexus emblem in floating glass arangement - skull & bones on the arm rest center fold-down ).

I have the same setup in my RX300, except with two 8W3's, and Rockford Fosgate T500 and T600 amps. Both have 5 farad caps.

I'll post pics a lil later,..they are not on this PC....
