I went to go change my DRL and noticed that I am missing about 4 of those engine cover screws. I did a search on this forum and some mentioned sewell and eBay however I can't find the screws there. Can someone point me in the right direction? I don't want to go to the dealer as I'm sure they'll probably charge me $10 each...

 

no really, they have charged me $3 each. I changed 10. SO.....$3x10=30

 

As i previously noted on my other post regarding rattles, these clips loosens with time, and the engine heat makes them brittle....the clips are definitely worth replacing to keep the covers from rattling.

 

Where can I buy them other than the dealer?

Yea I am missing a few myself. Cant you get a bag of them from the dealer instead of them individual? I searched on line some time back and havent as of recent. Some people sell them on ebay with 20 of them or so per bag. Cant hurt to have a few extra the way I look at it.

a vendor should do a group buy on these. I am sure many others on here could use them also. I know they where a pain on the 2IS also and they are the same on my car as they where on the IS.

 

Are the ones on ebay which lists for the ES and are sold in the quantity of 10 pieces/$10 the same?

 

Count me in for a group buy or let me know where you find those clips. I'm in need myself.

Thats what I was never able to figure out. When I looked they where all for Acura and there was none for Lexus. I guess if get on there at the right time you will find them and I know the ISx50 and the GS use the same clips not sure on the ES but I would think its a common part

 

My dealer give me half of a dozen for free.

Dealer gave me about 10 for free when I complained that they became loose after the recall service. Parts department told me it was 10 for $20 if I want to purchase.

Good to know I can ask my service advisor for them. I have broken/lost a few of those also.
