Default Resetting engine oil maintenance notification

I have done this before, however, it isn't working this time. I can't get the 'display' to go blank. What am I doing wrong?
Thanks.

I'm not sure it goes all the way blank or just says "OIL MAINT..." One issue I had before was that it didn't work if TRIP A or TRIP B was displayed instead of ODO. Try that along with the manual instructions.

What's a little goofy is that you have to fire up the car to look at or change the ODO mode, then turn the car off in order to do the reset procedure. To avoid actually starting the engine each time, I leave my foot off the brake when pressing the Start button, so it goes into Accessory mode instead. Here's my version:

First make sure odometer is in Total Miles mode:
-- With car off and foot off the brake, press the Start button twice to enter Accessory mode
-- Press the ODO button in the hidden control panel to set the display to Total Miles (not Trip A or B)
-- Press Start button once more to turn car off

Next, perform the reset procedure:
-- With foot off brake, hold the ODO Reset button, and press Start button twice (Accessory mode), then release Reset button.

The "Oil Maint Reset" light will come on, and the "Oil Maint Req" light will go off.

Good luck!

Thanks to all who replied. Here's what I did (thanks to a historic DIY post): I pushed the odo and reset buttons, then pressed the start button twice while holding the odo/reset buttons down for about 10 seconds. Problem solved. This time!!

That's an interesting difference--holding both buttons at the same time. I'll have to give that a try next time!
