4TH Generation GS coming...
Just curious...
Have any clues been dropped as when to expect the 4th generation GS? Based on past model years, I assume it will be a 2011 model year released in October of 2010.

If we are lucky it will be released in early 2012 as a MY 2013. This will make it 7 year cycle between 3GS and new model. The SC and GX have yet to be replaced, and they were older than the 3GS.........Based on the looks of the new RX, HS, and ISc Lexus has lost their way completely IMO
IS-C is not too bad actually compared to LX, 3RX and HS. If new GS will look anything like HS or RX, then this will be my last Lexus. At least until Lexus design team gets back on track.
let's bet on it.
I say this poorly selling car will be dragged out for 8 years.
2014 model, introduced in early 2013.
there's a lot more they can do with the front/rear bumpers. I wonder when they're going to add the LS exhaust tips.....

Let them take all the time they want, that away if someone sees the car I just got, they think it could be brand new and not some 3-4 year old car or whatever. I don't want this thing becoming obsolete fast

Lexus has been on the mark with each new IS, ES, GS, and LS, so I have no reason to think the next GS will be a disappointment. Personally, I am disappointed with the 2010 E Class, but it is growing on me.
No worries, it won't really matter the first production year anyway because it will have the same engines in 4GS with rattle problems and the same gen 5 navigation system. The question is, when is the second year 4GS coming?
O wait, I had one of those!
To answer my own question and as I first stated, I think 4GS will be released in October 2010 as a 2011 MY. The ES has been refreshed every four years. The LS every five years. The IS doesn't have a good history as this being 2IS, but 1IS was the same for 7 years.
As for the GS, the last two models years were different. Memory tells me either Automobile Magazine or Motor Trend a few years ago saying the 3GS would be delayed due to a roll over accident on a test track with one of the first three test mules made.
So...I think Lexus likes the 5 model year span. Toyota tries to stay with a 4 year model span for cars (Celica, Corrola, Cressida) and 5 yrs for pick-ups and SUVs.

I like the Lexus designs in the 2001-2006 model years a lot but these current generations aren't that bad especially the 3GS. Now that you guys mention it I guess the new RX and recent models do look kinda funky. But I'm sure it will just grow on people.
Wow, we're already discussing 4GS. I feel like we haven't had enough time with the 3GS. I need a new car and maybe I should wait to get a 4GS but I don't know if I have the patience! >_<

you're being over optimistic. the GS has never been on a 5 year cycle.
they've been on a 7 year cycle.
and the ES is a on a 5 year cycle.
