I had to have my "metal" ones felted by the dealer because they started to rub on the leather... noisy as heck when driving, moving, breathing, looking, blinking.....

Apparently, the metal isn't very forgiving and is inherantly "sticky." So, just don't get any leather cleaner or protectant on it and you should be fine...

your best bet is to send a pm to luis at carson toyota and see if that part can be ordered separately...whether or not it can be installed in your seat is a different question all together
