How can I set the factory alarm to automatic?
#31
I believe we will be informed that Tego1090 had an aftermarket alarm that was UNprogrammed by the dealer during his last service.
I do not believe that the 2006 and newer GS OEM alarm has the ability to passively
lock the doors without a push of a button.

I will not be informing you of that, Balnk, LOL. My car DID have passive alarm activation; it beeped to confirm activation when I got far enough away from it, within about 30 seconds. My car is all factory parts, alarm included, and it's fully loaded. Again, if my rep at the dealership said to bring it back to be reprogrammed, I would (safely) assume that they are aware of this feature.

I'l go slow...
Right now, if you walk away from your car with the keys in it, it will not lock and someone could easily steal it.
You say you will realize it quick because "when you use the fob" it won't lock. EXCEPT, if you remembered your fob, it would not be in the car. You also could touch the door button, with the keys inside. How would you know the car does not lock? Because it does not BEEP.
The BEEP/horn tells you whether the car has locked automatically with the C6 passive system. One beep/horn/headlight flash if it locks, two beeps/flashes if you leave the keys inside and walk away. If you can tell the difference between one and two beeps, you can't go wrong.
I forget to lock the GS all the time though, because I am conditioned to walking away without pushing a door button or the fob. Old dogs and new tricks...

Old topic, I know but I just switched mine to Passive. I didn't remember this post but I was playing with my cbest settings this morning and found this setting. Mine is not auto-locking after 30 seconds. Only arming. If there's a way to indeed auto lock as well, I'll need to look into other modules in the customization menu.

Pole Position
I'm not really sure how I did it, but today I sat in the car, closed the door... after a bit, the doors locked themselves, I never turned the car on. When I opened the door to get out, alarm went off.
Weird.
Weird.
