Default Aggressive Offsets anyone?

Well first let me start by saying Im not looking for that VIP look at all. Im contemplating running a new set of 18x9 wheels on my AWD. I was wondering if anyone has run a +30mm or +35mm offset on such wheels?

I understand that the fronts may rub a bit on full lock turns, Im more concerned with having the wheel faces come flush to the fenders.

And yes, I have a fender roller (so clearance is not an issue)

Any pics would be appreciated. anyone with +30 thru +35 offsets please

18x9 +35mm in the front is perfect. think you need a 18x10 in the rear to be flush.

^^^ Im trying not to do the staggered look anymore.... I figured 9" wide all around would be decent if flushed with rear fenders. my old 19x9.5 +45mm rear cam close to flush but not quite. Perhaps I will buy two 18x9 +35 for the fronts and test fit on the rear to calculate the best offset for the rear.

I see...The rears will look sucked in IMO if you have the same offset front to rear. you can always do different offsets for the rear but still be 18x9 or even throw a small spacer in the rear. I have a 20mm spacer on the OEM GSpyder in the rear and its close. If rolled or shave a 25mm spacer would be perfect. That should give you an idea of what it would sit like on the rear since the OEM is 18x8.8 (very close) to the size you want. I think the OEM is +45mm but I am not certain on that. I never tried the spacer on the front but from looks I think a 10mm spacer would make it flush with the fender. Maybe 15mm max.

to give you an idea if you havent shaved here is a 20mm with the OEM rims. Perfect fit with no rub issued but I am lowered ~2"....

hope that helps

fact is unless you go with staggered setup, there is no way you can get "aggressive" and be flush both front and rear on the same width/offset wheels. 9+35 is nothing for the rear. i have 10+37 and i can still go more aggressive. imho if i do it right i can go 10+30 and get away with it

but with those offset, putting it in the front would be disastrous

sounds good guys..... Passnu2, that setup looks pretty pimp. Kinda what Im looking for, without the huge bling size wheels. Since the wife will be driving as well, I cant afford 19's or 20's and the spring potholes and craters here in NYC area. maybe I"ll experiment with the spacer idea and install longer ARP studs in the rear. Or maybe I'll just chill out and keep my stock wheels on there.

to be aggressive you will need to run a staggered set up. I will never understand the obsession with putting the incorrect offset on a car to have to roll the fenders , when a proper fitting set looks as good and will never rub or require fender mods to a 50K car. To each his own

well, the fact is that people dont do as much homework as they should before purchasing a set of wheels and get something a little to aggressive. when they mount em, they rub like hell and have no choice but to start cutting and grinding away the fenders!!

then theres others that think it looks really sick to have the wheels flush as hell with the fenders and purposely buy a set of wheels with full intention of shaving the fenders.

who knows? if you dont like it......dont do it. its your $50K car.

if the person is trying to get the slammed/tucked VIP look, yeah OK, i can understand the reasoning coz aggressive offsets are required. fender shaving/rolling is needed. i have no issues with that.

but some people just get wheels (without considering offset, tire size, and wheel size) and try to force them to fit the GS, and then bemoan they get rubbing issues after the fact. that's not the proper way of getting a wheel/tire package.

OK how about....... front (20x9 +35) & rear (20x10 +30)

I dont want to cut or roll fenders unless really need to. I am already trying to squeeze some +22 Advans on my Supra.... want to keep the GS clean for wife to daily.
