Default HID bulb swap - D4S?

Hi everyone. Just wanted to confirm if the D4S used in the 3GS is the 35W version. I'm thinking of swapping out the OEM bulbs (4500k?) to to something a bit whiter-bluish 6000k. So it's just a direct swap....take out the OEM bulbs and put in the new D4S bulbs, isn't it?

well you thought wrong and so did I , lol... trust me its one of the craziest times I ever had installing a headlight bulb... You have to take the engine cover off... Then on the right side you have to remove the washer fluid base so you can fit your hand in there... Also removing the 2 spring clips that are holding the bulb in place are very hard to disengage... Good luck

It was pretty easy for me, my hands didn't fit, so rather than removing the washer fliud, I had my girl put her hand (smaller hand) in there and make the swap, took 5 mins.

Rey Rey, when I said that I did not assume it was easy, I thought it was cake AFTER I did mine 2 times, once to swap 6000K and then to swap OEM back in when I thought the 6ks were lame....so it was not some abstract idea of how difficult they should have been LOL

I installed the Garax bulbs. Many on the site seem to have had the best luck with them. I have had mine for ~ 1 month or so and not issues. (LOL) Color is perfect and I have 5k in the fogs

Its not that hard to install once you have those covers off.

Interesting...i didn't expect it would be difficult. I would be interested in some pictures on the installation of anyone has them.
