just pull really hard.
heheheh.. why did you need to change the tips?
you can use like a rubber hammer to bang it out, but just be careful of course. new ones would be put on the same way.

Just did this myself. If you look inside you can see the small pressure points where the tip is held onto the actual exhaust pipe. I just used a long screwdriver and carefully bent the tips until it loosened enough to pull off. Didn't have to use a hammer at all and it took about 5 minutes to change them out. Really easy.

Hmm, I was thinking about replacing mine too so I took a quick glance a few months back but I thought it was welded on so I didn't bother it again. If this is true, than I will go get a tip and replace the old one. Thanks for the advice. Do you have any pics of your tip? Where did you get it from? Thanks

Nope, definitely not welded on. I bought them off amazon. They are the Borla exhaust tips (part #20156). I will get some pictures this weekend after I wash the car - waiting for the rain to stop.

DId you go in from the front of the exhaust or from behind? I tried taking a screw driver from the back of the tip, but the muffler gets in the way....so i couldn't reach it....

I went in from the front (outlet) of the exhaust. If you shine a light from the back you can see in there really good and see where the tips are held on.

^^^ im trying to do this on my IS, yes u will need to cut the bumper, the biggest tips you can add are single S2000 OEM tips. For quad tips u will need to cut the bumper. Sides if u find some that fit without bumper modification then its probably too small looking

The tips for our GS's are not welded on, theres just two points that you have to losen with a flathead and then you pull it out. Really easy, just takes a little strength and time.

x2 I'm feelin those better than stock. I have to replace once of mine. I took my car to the dealer and I noticed a few days later one was missing. They wouldnt replace it even though they worked on the exhaust hangers (I was hearing a wierd vibration noise) Needless to say I need to replace them before I get my wheels and coils installed to complete the effect...
