New GS owner ~ Pictures
Hey guys,
I just wanted to drop by and introduce myself.... I just purchased a 2007 GS350, Madador Red Mica.... I am coming from a 335i coupe so its a bit of a different ride... ANyways, I love the comfort of the ride and can't wait to learn more about this vehicle... I have been lurking around the forums but still have questions that I couldn't find... I am a newbie so please bear with me if some of these questions are simples ones.....
I have navigation but not the mark levingston package. Am I still able to play DVDs while parked? If not has anyone upgraded?
How do I get all of the interior lights to come on while I open the door? It seems as though only each individual light comes on depending on which door is open.
Is there an AUX input switch somewhere in the car? I can't seem to find it as I like to connect my Iphone to listen to music while driving. If it doesn't come with one, am I able to add one?
THose are questions I have for now... If there is anything worth mentioning that I should know about, please dont hesitate to drop a line.. I would greatly appriciate it as I dont know much about these cars.. .I come from BMW and Mercedes vehicles.... Need a reliable DD that I can drive to the ground as my P-car will be coming next year for the weekends....

1) weird that you got the GS300 rims?
2) no Aux for pre 08 GS, sorry, you can always add something like Ipod adapter to work with your existing nav/sound system
3) No Mark Levison means no dvd changers/players for you, i would think you can change the whole headunit, but it will cost way too much to even consider

Christian, Welcome, welcome, welcome. I too came from a BMW (X5) to the GS and I am sure you will not regret it. Agreed there is a difference in performance, but with the P car coming soon, you will be glad you have the GS as a daily.
As far as the DVD, unfortunately, without ML, you cannot play them. In order to change that, you would need a NAV TV upgrade.
Not sure about the door lights, but sure.
Also, the Iphone will NOT work using the AUX input, which is inside the arm rest. (in my 08 anyway.)

Yes sir...let it begin...I am learing about this ipod solution. Vaistech SL2Vi... Trying to see how hard it is to install. IT would be a perfect solution.... Cost will come into play also,,,,

welcome to CL! if you had an Ipod, i'd recommend you get a VAIS product (www.vaistech.com). you might want to drop these guys a line and see if there's anything they can do for you since you got an Iphone.
you can get the prestigious society dvd/navi override kit - although you don't have dvd capability (no ML audio), at least you can still take advantage of the navi override.
