My thermostat showed -4 degrees this morning and the styrofoam sound was horrible. Every turn and bump sounded as if someone was rubbing 2 pieces of styrofoam together. Ugh... When I went out for lunch it was 5 degrees and it was even worse...even once the car was heated up. Today was the worst I've heard it.

I can't wait to get this to the dealer next week to have them hopefully fix it. I don't know if the fix for the styrofoam sound is the one that is on backorder for 2 weeks or not, but it will be nice to get this moving.

Took my car into the dealership today. The service guy I spoke to actually admitted the problem and said it's a known issue. He thought replacing or removing the clips would fix the problem (I assume replacing...I'm sick and can't recall what exactly he said).

Anyhow, they gave me a 2009 IS250 loaner. I had not driven an IS until now. I knew it was a little small, but it's not terrible. Definitely not the finish of a GS and the steering was a lot tighter, but not bad overall.

Yes...almost 2 months !!! I kept trading the loaners in back and forth...from ES350 to RX350 to IS250 and back to ES350.
