Default Need help on my new key....

I lost my smart key and now just purchase another one from the dealer for $140.00. I don't want to pay them an additional $65 dollar for programming. I still have an extra smart key but prefer to have one for me and the wife. Does anyone know how to program a brand new smart key? Help is much appreciated.....2006 GS430

i REALLY don't think this is something you can program yourself..

or i will just buy a bunch of empty keys and program all of the ones at valet and drive their cars away

I program the remote key on my 02 GS430 and to my understanding as long as you have the master key, you can program another key. But i have never program a smart key.

correct, on the 2gs, as long as you have one master key, you can program extra keys (up to 7 in total), but the programming can only be done when you are inside the car and with the key in ignition

with the 3gs, i think it's probably still doable. a lot of people got the credit card keys from sewell lexus and i think some of them were able to program the keys themselves. the credit card keys probably works the same as the smart keys? go to 2is forum and ask over there?

sorry i can't give a solid answers, but hope i can get you somewhere

Henry: i have the credit card key (smart card key) I had to have the dealership program the card key for me, there's no way you can program it yourself.

I dont think you can program smart keys yourself, you use to to be able to do it on the traditional key type ignition.

When you say credit card key is that for the 3GS or the 2GS, and is it just that plastic key that you keep in your wallet or something else? Thanks
