Default Gray Birdseye Interior?

I have a black/black 06' GS and it came with dark cherry wood trim. I want to change it to the gray birdseye trim that they make for some colors.

Does anyone know if this is something i can buy from the dealer or anywhere else? Or have any ideas how to get those pieces including the steering wheel.

Thanks!

not something you can buy from dealership. you can get all those pieces, but prepare to pay hefty money. if anything the steering wheel will be the hardest part to change, you have to disaseemble to whole steering wheel and likely have to cut the wood (from what i read on the 2gs forum)

Yeah i know it would probably cost alot, its going to be a big part of what im going to be doing for my car project...

theres already 40 thousand spent on the car, so far i have a black marble junction produce front table and im getting custom flip down tables on the back of the front seats in the same color and the gray birdseye will match it almost perfectly.

If anyone knows or wants to trade let me know and im hoping theres a different way to do the steering man that would suck...

So its hard to take the steering off on the 3 gen gs's...damn, thats good to know...would any aftermarkets work though?

Thanks, Ron

Your best bet is to look for used trim panels from a wrecked 3GS in the right color. The wood trim on the door panel is not a clip on piece, you will actually have to break the glue and fasteners to get it off.

would it be easier to change the leather on the steering wheel than to cut the wood???

The wood pieces on the door panels are not available seperately. Yes you can order the whole interior door trim panel but it is $$$$ just like the center console trim.

Wow Lexus parts is really making it difficult for customizing...

I guess this is a good reason to order straight from the factory?

I wanted that from the start, it doesnt make sense why they only have the red wood for the black interior and they dont allow another option.

Trying to make it easier for the consumer i guess instead of having to choose 100000 options like Porsche or some other company

it's okay, I hated the red wood at first, now it's not too bad
